I wonder if anyone can sense a theme throughout this episode? lol

Young Worksop villager Hayley spots a mysterious shape in the sky while the West Bromwich Puppet Show put on a performance, leading to panic in the community of an alien invasion.

The opening is so different, with everyone running like a forerunner to Blair Witch Project. It's nice how an absent minded parsnip seller, a dim witted and childlike Guy, and the intelligent Marian are the only ones left unfazed by the events.

'Only Child' is a nice song, which sees the return of (little) Richard, and the parts with Guy could have been set at anytime, his brain is stuck at '8 years old'.

Fresh from dressing up as a tree to avoid giving King John his driving test, Snooker is once again tree-like!

Sheriff "For the last time Guy, we are trying to raise some money for the royal arsenal."
Guy "Well I'm not helping, I hate Football. Goodbye!"

The scene with Little Ron aiming the arrow is a clear sign this is post Prince of Thieves, as is the conversation afterwards.

I have to say, the sight of a naked community is daring for the BBC, something that wouldn't be done these days. The song of which is 'Naked To the Visible Eye'- "I want my anorak, you've got to give it back"

Sheriff "Yes and little Winnie-the-Pooh's and little Tiggers and little Kangers and that stupid little one with a mind of a two year old.
Graeme "What, Piglet?"
Sheriff "No- Christopher Robin"

King John "We haven't got any jumble, I gave it all away last week"
Barrington "Oh yeah, who to?"
King John "The Royal Society for the Prevention of Animals"
Sheriff "Didn't you miss the 'Cruelty', my lord?"
King John "Yes, of course I missed the cruelty, that's why I gave them all my jumble"

Overall, a fun episode.

Yeah, it's a funny episode. I love it how they all dress up as plop-bop.
Is it me or does marian put on a funny voice when she's dressed up? Because she sounds different.

No... I thought it was very obvious. They all tried to put on distorted American accents...

Having watched this earlier today, can i just say how much i loved it? Watching it now with different eyes, i can't help but noticee the many references to various other shows, such as Doctor Who with the puppets going "Exterminate" and Gary and Graeme running into the castle claiming that its somethin huge and round wanting to exterminate them, reminiscent of the Daleks. Also, when Robin meets Snooker dressed as a tree and believes him to be an alien, he's trying to take the mick out of Star Trek, i think. But all in all, for a sci fi version of MM, it's pretty good, and one that had my sister laughing too.
